Reference point wines of the world all express distinctive character by “embracing the edges”... of geology and soils, of geography, of climate, of farming and winemaking practices; reinforcing vineyard health/vitality and, ultimately, vine age.
Our wines are released twice per year, and are available first-come, first-served until sold out.

Delmas Syrah 2022

SJR Vineyard’s first vintage for Delmas was 2010. We made a singular wine over our first decade, selling fruit to other Rocks District producers: focusing on farming and the nuances of flavor development tinged with distinctive volcanic character. Addressing vine health and longevity via a new terroir specific training form. Our inspiration for this wine was simply pleasure; and the blueprint was Cote Rotie. Co-fermented aromatics lead the way, followed by distinctive (SJR specific) flavor notes delivering layers of complexity, framed by structural finesse-elegance on the palate and a long finish.

We are excited to introduce our inaugural vintage of the B | D | R red-blend. Clos du Pape, a Family enterprise (considerably older than the Robertson’s) from Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the global inspiration for this blend. From vintage to vintage B | D | R will represent the full capacity of SJR Vineyard and combine varieties, from various blocks to maximize each vintages potential for enjoyment.
In 2025, more Rhône varieties will be planted at SJR Vineyard, adding additional complexity to the longevity of this wine.
Delmas Viognier 2022

Our varietal Viognier was introduced in 2018. The inspiration was Condrieu. The volume of this wine will always be extremely limited as there is only one acre of Viognier currently on the estate. Aromatic, viscous and flavorful with a refreshingly long finish. Barrel fermented and aged in new French oak puncheons. Perfumed minerality is glorified in this singular expression of a Rhône white.

Magnum’s-only! Over our first decade we realized SJR Vineyard’s amazing ability to seamlessly integrate new oak tannin. This new wine was introduced in 2017, but its structural components were realized with the 2019 vintage. The Peddler is built for the cellar, expanding possibility within the Rocks District; 100% whole cluster, barrel fermented and raised in 100% new French oak. A feast of umami flavor notes assure lingering conversations around the dinner table long into the evening.
