Over fourteen vintages, The Rocks District’s world-class wine expression has been recognized through SJR Vineyard; showcasing aromatics and texture that can only be realized from vines planted in the volcanic deposits found within the boundaries of this appellation.
B | D | R expands the estate’s capability to offer Delmas Blends. Beyond own-rooted Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah; SJR Vineyard will include new clones of head-trained Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault. Also in the works… future plantings consisting of Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Bourboulenc will supply the B | D | R - WHITE - Program.

EXCLUSIVE COOPERAGE
We are currently working with a highly-regarded Cooper-Owner in Burgundy who will be crafting an exclusive barrel for Delmas. This will enhance the flavor profile of the B | D | R, given extended barrel aging, and specifically selected staves.
2022 B | D | R
The 2022 B | D | R is saturated purple with a savory, umami dominant bouquet: bacon fat, garrigue, olive tapenade, blackberry, minerals, and violets. The palate is densely packed with fruit (blackberry, huckleberry) with significant notes of garrigue, allspice, licorice, black truffle, forest floor, smoked meats, and stony minerality. A superbly long finish resonates richly with notes of Asian spices, bacon fat, garrigue, and lavender.
